About Mingjie
Hello! My name is Mingjie Wang, and I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from China, currently living in the UK.
I completed my Master's degree in the UK and am fluent in both Mandarin and English.
I have experience teaching students of different ages, backgrounds and language levels. My teaching style is friendly, patient and practical, with a strong focus on helping students communicate confidently in real-life situations.
Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for HSK exams, improving your conversational Chinese, or learning Mandarin for travel, work or personal interest, I can tailor lessons to your specific goals.
I offer flexible online Mandarin lessons as well as in-person lessons in Southampton by arrangement.

Perfect! Mingjie is an excellent teacher, he has helped me learn so much, so quickly. Mingjie is patient and takes his time to make sure you understand fully before moving on. Mingjie is a very humorous and excellent teacher. He will develop suitable courses for each person based on their needs for Chinese proficiency; his Chinese classes are very interesting and accompanied by his humorous teaching. I think anyone who is interested in Chinese can try his course.
Mingjie and I are good friends. I am a native English speaker and we met in the UK. He often taught me some daily Chinese expressions when we were chatting, and I accumulated a lot of Chinese vocabulary. I can already use Chinese to have basic conversations with people. I strongly recommend finding him to learn Chinese, because he will teach you Chinese in a very relaxed and humorous way, and you will not feel tired of learning at all, but more interesting.

A free 30-minute trial lesson is available for all new students. During the trial lesson, we will discuss your learning goals, current level and create a personalised learning plan.
All learning materials are provided free of charge.
Lessons are available online via Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.
Discounted lesson packages are available for students who book multiple lessons in advance.
I focus on practical Mandarin for real-life communication, travel, work and everyday conversation.
