I - General
Teachers' contact details are never passed on to students unless the teacher accepts the class requests and indicates that he/she wants to pass on his/her contact details to the student to arrange the first class.
All pages of the site are secured by the HTTPS protocol and the navigation between the pages is encrypted.
No credit card data is ever stored by Superprof, except for the last 4 digits.
Superprof does not sell or rent any information or data about its members.
After viewing the advertisements, students can get in touch with teachers they have selected.
Students can send a class request containing a personalised message to all the teachers who seem to correspond to their learning requirements. These messages should not contain any means of contacting the student other than through the Superprof website, i.e. no telephone number, no URL, no email address or postal address. A message containing any of this information will automatically be deleted and the student may still be charged for management fees without guarantee of connecting with the desired tutor(s). After a lesson request is accepted, tutor and student can then communicate via the chat feature of the website.
In order to message tutors, you will be asked to pay a monthly subscription fee of ₹599 (this is the Student Pass), which is not connected with an individual teacher's rates. Your initial payment will only be fully processed once a tutor accepts your initial lesson request, i.e. clicks 'accept' on their dashboard.* It might, however, be held by your bank to guarantee payment in case of an accepted request before this.** The Student Pass is ₹599 /month and allows students to message as many tutors as they wish during the period of subscription. If several of the selected tutors accept a lesson request, the student will still only pay the student fee of ₹599 once and thus will be able to choose the tutor they prefer.
The subscription is renewed automatically (for card payments) each month but the student can cancel the subscription at any moment through the student's account settings on their dashboard.* The subscription needs to be cancelled before the date of automatic renewal in order to avoid being charged for the next month of subscription. *For Payments via Digital Wallet/UPI, the debit is instant (soon as you fill in your payment details) and the Student Pass subscription is not renewed automatically and will only be valid for a duration of 30 days.
If several of the selected tutors accept a lesson request, the student will still only pay the student fee of ₹599 once and thus will be able to choose the tutor they prefer.
If the teachers selected by a student are unavailable, our system automatically selects suitable and available teachers for that student. The student can accept to get classes with these teachers by clicking "Discuss" through the dashboard. The student is now considered to have started using the Student Pass service, thereby activating the auto-debit. Please note that 5 days after atleast 3 suggested teachers have agreed to teach the student, the Student Pass will be automatically debited from the student's account.
The student can only be reimbursed if the teacher is unavailable. Depending on the case, proof may be requested in order to proceed with the refund. Please note that if the request for a refund in the event of the teacher's unavailability is accepted, the deactivation of the Student Pass remains the responsibility of the member, who is invited to follow the cancellation procedure to stop the renewal of the subscription fee.
In the case that a teacher has refused to give lessons because the student has asked them to complete homework, coursework, exams, or other work on the student's behalf, a refund will not be given to the student. Once a class request is accepted by a teacher, and the contact details are transmitted to the student, Superprof will not be able to refund the student pass. The student can only be reimbursed if, due to the fault of the teacher, no lessons have taken place, including any free lessons. Depending on the case, proof may be requested in order to be able to reimburse. The Student Pass fee allows students to contact and find teachers that are willing and able to teach them. If a teacher is willing to teach a student, but the student, for reasons unrelated to the tutor, decides not to follow through with the lesson, a refund will not be granted. If the student is able to provide proof which confirms the unavailability of the teacher, Superprof will reimburse that month of the Student Pass.
Superprof does not interfere in the payment process between students and the teachers. Students must pay tuition fee directly to the teacher.
