About Simone
Hello, I’m Simone, a native Chinese speaker and bilingual instructor passionate about teaching Mandarin. I was born and raised in China and later taught high school English before moving to the U.S.
I’ve spent the last eight years working as a User Experience Designer in the U.S. Currently, I am transitioning into clinical psychology. The unique combination of my background allows me to design lessons that are culturally relevant, intuitive, and personable.
I mainly work with adult learners, focusing on building real-world confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Chinese.
Being one of the most ancient and expressive languages in the world, Chinese is full of depth and cultural richness. I look forward to exploring it together with you!

My teaching approach is structured, personalized, and learner-centered. Drawing from my background as both a former teacher and a User Experience Designer, I break down complex language concepts into clear, intuitive, and easy to follow steps.
I focus on building strong foundations in PinYin and gradually introduce reading and writing component in a manageable and beginner-friendly pace.
One of the biggest advantage of in-person learning with a native Chinese speaker is that you will have chance to practice real-world scenarios with me and ask questions in real-time. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s level and needs. This learning process is a collaboration over techniques, so your input and participation is just as important as mine.
