About Wendy
Hi! I'm Wendy. I’ve always been interested in learning new languages and hope I can share what I know with others! I’m a bilingual Chinese/English speaker. Mandarin is my mother tongue and I've learnt English as my second language now many consider me as a native speaker. Currently I’m working from home at my primary job and I'm flexible with part-time teaching. I am currently working full time as a consultant also tutoring 3 students at basic and advanced levels. I'll show you Chinese can be really fun once you get the hang of it!

My teaching style is very relaxed and casual, and suited to your needs. From conversational skills, to conducting business interviews, to specific grammar topics, I will adjust my lessons on whatever you want to improve on.
* Lesson Information:
In my class, every student will have to be assessed during our first class to see the level of fluency, understanding of your goals, the purpose of learning Mandarin, and the timeline you would like to accomplish your goals.
I believe everyone has different learning abilities, so I want to get to know my students during our first session to create personalized lesson plans.
Levels: beginners, conversational Chinese, Chinese for kids, business Chinese, intensive Chinese, Chinese for professionals, general Chinese and Chinese literature.
*Levels
Level 1: Beginner (learn Chinese pinyin)
Level 2: Recognizes Chinese characters but struggles to read
Level 3: Able to read but can't write or struggles to write proper sentences
Level 4: Able to read and write, but need more practice
Level 5: Gets it, but need more practice speaking
And other intermediate levels! *
Depending on your availability and level, a class structure will be different, but please see an example of a standard class structure below: (*everyone's lesson will be different, so it might not follow the class structure below**)
1 hr session:
8 ~ 10 min: warm-up exercises to activate the previous lesson
5 ~ 10 min: discuss the essential question for the day (theme for today's lesson)
5 ~ 7 min: learn new vocabulary words
15 ~ 20 min: read a story using the new vocabulary words
10 min: exercises with the new vocabulary words
10 min: wrap up
