About Enid

Born and raised in Shanghai, educated in the UK, and living in Canada for over a decade, I've collected a few cultural perspectives and plenty of stories along the way!

I'm a designer by profession and a curious explorer. I love art, music, travel, good food, and the little cultural quirks that make people and places interesting.

As a native Mandarin and Shanghainese speaker who's equally comfortable in English, I love bridging cultures through language, humor, and genuine conversation.

I believe learning should be fun, spontaneous, and anything but routine. Expect plenty of laughs, cultural discoveries, and the occasional Shanghai slang you definitely won't find in a textbook!

About the class

My lessons go beyond textbook Chinese. Whether you're learning Mandarin for everyday communication or Shanghainese to connect with local culture, I'll help you speak naturally and confidently.

As a Shanghai native who has lived in Canada for over a decade, I bring both cultural perspectives into my teaching.

Expect relaxed, engaging conversations, practical expressions, local slang, and cultural insights you won't find in a textbook. Lessons are tailored to your interests, goals, and language level.

Whether you're planning a trip to China, connecting with family, or simply curious about the language, let's make learning Chinese fun, useful, and genuinely interesting!
