About Harry
I have been tutoring one-on-one for over seven years. In that time, my results record has been outstanding (consistently achieving grades 8–9 at GCSE, and A–A* at A-level). I also bring with me experience as a schoolteacher of Latin and Ancient Greek, and as a university lecturer of Latin.
My PhD is in Ancient Greek Linguistics, and I have very recently passed my viva exam. The focus of my research was on the lexical semantics of Ancient Greek from Homer until the end of the 4th century BCE. I am now working on publishing my thesis as a book.

Across years of experience in tutoring and teaching, I've learned one thing: I don't have a formula for a lesson, because every lesson — like every student — is unique. Some students need grammatical help, others need help reading Latin and Greek literature, others need me to teach them ancient poetry, others are interested and want to learn more about the ancient world and its languages.
When I decide to take on a student, I want to begin by understanding what makes you tick. Why are you here studying this subject? If you're here under duress, what other things make you really excited? Are we starting from the very beginning, or are we midway through, or perhaps you're quite far down the path, and you're not quite sure where to go next? Once we've answered those questions, I can build a structured programme around you.
