About Camila

My name is Camila, also known as Teacher Cami, and from an early age, I discovered my passion for education. I graduated in Pedagogy, where I gained a solid foundation in educational theories and practices. However, my quest for improvement and my thirst for new challenges led me beyond that.

I invested in specializations such as neuropsychopedagogy, an area that fascinates me due to its intersection between neuroscience and pedagogy, and inclusive education, as I firmly believe in the importance of providing quality education for everyone while respecting their individualities.

My educational journey took a significant leap when I participated in an exchange program in the United States. During this time, I had the privilege of immersing myself in American culture and, more importantly, in the English language.

This experience was transformative in many ways. Besides improving my English, living in the United States allowed me to closely experience the American educational system, working in a daycare and learning from dedicated professionals.

This journey not only enriched my educational background but also reinforced my conviction that education is a powerful tool for transforming lives.

My Teaching Approach and How I Share My Knowledge
Teaching Method and Techniques:

My teaching method is centered around creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that caters to the unique needs of each student. I combine a communicative approach with practical application, ensuring that students not only grasp grammatical rules but also use Portuguese in real-life situations.

Key techniques include:

Interactive Conversations: Regular conversation practice to enhance fluency and confidence.
Contextual Learning: Incorporating real-world materials such as news articles, videos, and music to make lessons relevant and interesting.
Personalized Exercises: Tailored exercises and activities that focus on the student’s areas of improvement.
Cultural Immersion: Introducing aspects of Portuguese-speaking cultures to enrich language understanding and appreciation.

Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson plan is designed to balance various aspects of language learning. Here’s a breakdown:

Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): A brief review of previous material or a quick conversation to get the student engaged.
New Content (15-20 minutes): Introduction to new vocabulary, grammar, or language structures, often through interactive exercises.
Practice Activities (20-25 minutes): Hands-on activities including dialogues, role-plays, or written exercises to reinforce the new content.
Application (10-15 minutes): Practical application of the lesson’s content in a real-world context or through a short project.
Review and Feedback (5-10 minutes): Recap of the lesson, addressing any questions, and providing constructive feedback to guide further improvement.
