I was born and raised in Hong Kong, I left in the early 1980's after spending my first 25 years there. Although I was never 'fluent' in Cantonese when I lived there I knew 'enough' to get by. I wanted to pay a return visit with other members of my family and I wanted help in both (re)learning what I already knew but to also increase my conversational ability and level in readiness for my return trip. Mandy was fantastic at working with me at a pace was comfortable with. She was also excellent at tailoring my learning in accordance with the activities I had planned for my trip. Throughout the c18months of weekly lessons, Mandy evidenced dedicating a great deal of her own personal time to producing learning activities and content that seemed very tailored to my personal details... right down to the names of characters used in written conversational pieces!
