About Maisie
I have been teaching ESL since 2013 and have worked in Australia, Vietnam and Korea. I have worked in primary schools, cram schools and in adult education centres teaching a variety of courses. These courses have been curriculum based, conversational lessons or developed by my students and I to ensure their specific needs are met. I have worked very closely with university students- both international and domestic students- to improve their overall marks by assisting with coursework and assignments. I have also done tutoring online using video conference programs and telephone apps.
I have a qualification in TESOL which I gained in 2013.

I strive to ensure that my students get the most out of their sessions which means that I develop curriculum based on the individual. I use a variety of textbooks, websites and workbooks while creating lessons for my students and always provide copies of these. I focus on working with students to achieve their goals, and enjoy encouraging my students to gain further skills in their area of interest.
I tutor English to all ages and skill levels, both online and in person.
My main focus in tutoring sessions is teaching useful vocabulary and grammar which are relevant to your interests and needs. Learning or improving language skills can be difficult, so I aim to make my sessions as fun as possible, and every lesson is individually tailored to your personal needs and skill level. I am very flexible in in the way I tutor language, and strive to ensure that my lessons are tailored to your particular learning style.
As each person has specific desires and needs, I use a variety of worksheets and textbooks in my tutoring sessions, and will provide you with free copies of the required texts for each lesson. If appropriate, I use songs and newspaper articles in my sessions so that you are able to learn the context of the language skills you are developing.
I have a deep understanding of other languages, and therefore understand the English speaking difficulties that speakers of specific languages struggle with. This allows me to focus on your basic needs in our first sessions in order to improve your language skills immediately, as well as ensuring that I understand and easily correct any mistakes stemming from your native language.
