IELTS Coaching Near me in India

We all seek out opportunities to secure a better future, and for most of us, it means having to go abroad for education or settling down as an immigrant. Whatever the purpose, we need to take the IELTS, “International English language testing system” exam to assure the English speaking countries of our proficiency in the language.

IELTS is undoubtedly one of the most popular and widely accepted standardised language tests across the world. It has continued to lead the ranks for the 25 years that it has been used for.

Can I Pass IELTS Without Coaching?

Yes, it is possible to pass the IELTS exam without coaching. Many candidates have achieved good results through self-study and preparation.

To prepare for the IELTS exam on your own, you can start by familiarizing yourself with the format of the exam, including the types of questions and the time limits for each section. You can also practice with sample test materials, which are available online or in IELTS preparation books.

What is the IELTS Test format?

Below are the four parts of the IELTS test that you must clear with a good grade to get accepted in a place of your liking.

Listening

This component needs to be completed in 30 minutes and is branched into four sections, all of which together have 40 questions. Its purpose is to test your ability to comprehend ideas, monologues, conversations and objectives of the four recordings that are to be played.

  •  The first recording covers a conversation held between two people in any given situation.
  • The seconds recording will be based on a monologue given by a person on a particular topic, e.g. a speech on the benefits of getting vaccinated
  • The third recording will be a formal chat between 2-4 people about a discussion.
  • The last recording is going to be more like a lecture that informs about a specific academic subject.

This section is entirely grounded upon a person's understanding of different accents and the clarity with which they grasp the central points of the voice recording.

Reading

It consists of a total of 40 questions, like in the previous section. It is designed to examine a variety of reading skills. This part of the test looks for if the examinee can take away from the meaningful gist meant to be observed. Logical errors must be avoided, and the attitudes of the writer should be well captured and analyzed.

The questions hugely differ in the academic IELTS and the general IELTS. They vary in the following ways

  • Academic test- It has three long tests, which could be descriptive, factual or analytical. These are sourced from different kinds of journals, magazines and newspapers. So, the content is primarily informative. This test ensures that the examinee is equipped with the basic knowledge of making out of a piece of information.
  • General Training Test- It comprises generalised versions of texts extracted from daily life manuals, guides, books and advertisements. These are situational writings, the versions of which you may stumble upon in an English speaking country. It inspects how well you could deal with a possible encounter in the country.

Writing

It is the most extended section reaching up to 60 minutes. You'll be given some formal and informal stances that you need to write about from what you grasp.

  • Academic test-

There are two tasks to fill in, with the first one where you need to explain your understanding of the graph or some diagram provided. The second one includes your reply to a problem that you must solve in whatever way you deem is right.

  • General Training

The style in which the questions are posed may vary in the degree of how formal they are. You will be required to jot down an essay as a response to the situation given to you in the text.

Speaking

It is the shortest and as close to a personal interview as it can get. It is the only part where you will have to face and talk directly to the examiner. This section begins with an introductory part where you'll be asked questions about your life in general. Then, you would have to voice out your opinion on the topic assigned to you.  At last, your abstract opinion of the second part will be closely examined. This part gives your examiner an overview of how well you speak and comprehend the idea behind some topics.
