James and I went to school together and have kept in touch for over 15 years. In this time i've watched his love of Classics and Ancient History evolve from a personal interest at a young age, into something he is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about.

From early GCSE courses, to College A-Level, and further into his field with an MA and MPhil at University, this is something James has always excelled at. On a personal level, he is kind, inquisitive, patient, and a great listener. These are all qualities that his friendship group appreciates, but ultimately they are also the foundations for a great teacher.

I have every belief that James will excel and become very successful in his tutoring, especially if the past decade and a half is anything to go by.

I studied with James during our Bachelor of Arts university degree, in Classical Civilisation, at the University of Roehampton.

James was one of the most driven, focused and studious Classicists I’d come across. I admired his deep knowledge on Classics and also his fantastic artwork, which denoted the mythical figures and tales of ancient times.

However, it was James’ unwavering patience and approachable nature which I found most endearing. I could count on James for guidance on our course (as he was unequivocally more knowledgable than I), or in general life thoughts and questions. He is both intelligent and exceedingly kind, two traits which don’t often go hand in hand! It was my pleasure to have studied aside him for 3 years.

Any student would be lucky to have James as their tutor. I have every faith that he would devote his full time and attention to ensure his student emerges successfully in their studies.
