Victoria has been a huge asset to our students in the Foreign Languages department who wanted to further improve their Mandarin and Cantonese skills in view of their GCSE and A Level exams. She set up on-line tuition and was very approachable in the run-up to the official exams, allowing for further mock exam practice. She also gave thorough feed-back, orally as well as written. Victoria was very flexible and her professionalism evident when she visited the school to prepare in advance for the oral exams. During the actual oral exams, Victoria remained calm and very much in control of timings and various exam components, whilst reassuring our candidates who were able to perform at their best in a comfortable setting.
Victoria is an energetic, enthusiastic, thorough and encouraging tutor, I would strongly recommend her.

Victoria has really helped me improve my French speaking skills and helps me a lot with my pronunciation. In between lesson time she really helpfully sends me interesting and fun reading material in French, which sometimes I have to translate and we discuss it in detail during our lessons, making sure that I have understood everything, and that I am using vocabulary from the text in our discussion. Victoria’s timetable is very flexible letting you pick the time that fits you the best. Lesson times can vary from 15 minutes and onwards (to practise speaking multiple times a week), which my daughter find very practical.

I had a very basic understanding of Mandarin (HSK1) but wanted to get fluent before a business trip to Beijing/Chongqing. Victoria in less than 6 months took my skills to another level and even showed me the subtleties between traditional/simplified business Chinese (Handy if you go to Hong Kong). She really helped me with my oral and understanding of the four tones/intonation nuances. Highly recommend if you want someone fun and effective!
