About David
I am a teacher and a traveler. I have lived in different countries in my life. I was 6 months in the United Kingdom, a year in New Zealand, a year in Amsterdam, 6 months in Romania. Now I live in Kursk, Russia, where I teach Italian as a foreign language at South-Western State University. I studied foreign languages and Linguistics (Language and Education) at the university in Italy and in the Netherlands. In the real world I am already a teacher. I started working occasionally as a private teacher of Italian for foreigners during the university period and during my experience in New Zealand. After obtaining my Master's Degree, I collaborated with AIESEC Romania for the Teach Romanian Youth program in Iasi. In October 2018 I obtained the CEDILS certification at the Ca'Foscari University of Venice, which is a certificate of competence to teach Italian as a foreign or second language. From January 2019 I started working at South-Western State University, where I teach Italian to foreigners. Teaching online is a new challenge for me and a way to reach more customers.

I follow the communicative-humanistic approach. In other words, the focus of my lessons is based on the development of communication skills. From a first global phase in which there is an exhibition of authentic Italian material, we move on to a second one where I guide and help the student to discover, with my support, grammar rules, language usage, vocabulary new. But first of all, I work a lot on the motivation of my students. I mainly use original content, which is tailor-made according to my students' level of competence. I share many multimedia contents and slides to try to facilitate the learning and interest of the students.
