About Gwen
Back in the 60's, they did not have college courses for people who lacked skills from High School especially in Math and Science. I was a student at the University of KY and was hired over the summer to tutor 2 incoming students so they could pass the entrance exams. One was a retired African American woman who had dreamed of attending U of KY and her children purchased tuition for her dream to be fulfilled. The other student was a young woman from Eastern KY who had never finished High School and whose husband was in law school and paid for her to attend UK. They both passed the requirements and I continued to tutor them in their freshman year in Math working with their professors and instructors. I also had a class in general college math with about 10 students who all passed the math requirement to graduate.
