I'm currently a student at the University of Melbourne. I've grown up learning three languages at the same time, so I understand the challenges of acquiring a new language, but during this process it has also equipped me with strategies to make the learning process more accessible and enjoyable. As a native Chinese speaker with a strong academic background in both Chinese and English, I aim to create engaging, personalized lessons that match each student's learning style and goals. I focus not only on grammar and vocabulary but also on cultural context and real-life application, which are essential for true fluency. During lessons I tend to listen to the student's understanding of the knowledge first and then plan my teaching further upon that. I tend to let the student repeat what's being taught in their own words to consolidate their knowledge and to confirm that they've understood. Typically the lesson will last around 1-2 hours, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. I've had tutoring experience for two years, aiming to teach elementary to middle school students.
