About Dr Fawaz
I am Dr. Fawaz, an experienced educator, researcher, and former university lecturer holding a PhD in Computer Science with over 25 years of teaching experience across schools, higher education, and industry. Throughout my career, I have published over 45 peer-reviewed scientific papers and worked closely with diverse groups of learners. My extensive background in STEM and analytical thinking gives me a structured, patient, and problem-solving mindset when helping students navigate learning differences and academic challenges.
My specialised focus includes providing dedicated SEND and SEN support for students with ADHD, Autism, and targeted Maths Difficulties. Having guided learners of varying abilities across multiple educational stages, I recognise that every student learns differently and requires a tailored, empathetic approach. My deep understanding of logical structures and data allows me to isolate where a student gets stuck—particularly in quantitative areas like mathematics—and rebuild their understanding from the ground up using supportive, intuitive techniques.
At the heart of my tutoring practice is a patient, highly adaptable, and encouraging approach designed to foster confidence and self-belief. For students with ADHD or ADD, I incorporate dynamic focus techniques, clear visual breakdowns, and manageable lesson chunks to keep energy high and frustration low. For autistic students, I provide structured predictability, clear communication, and a calm, encouraging space that fosters confidence and independence. When addressing maths difficulties, I break complex numerical concepts into intuitive visual and hands-on steps, transforming anxiety into genuine understanding.
