About Jack
I've always been drawn to people, to understanding them and making connections. My interest in philosophy has always been primarily how it can help people in their day-to-day life, and secondarily its theoretical implications.
Over the years I've had the opportunity to speak to all kinds of people, young and old, educated and uneducated, at the pub and in the boardroom. I've discovered that I have a gift for listening to others, being present, and helping them to see themselves and the world around them in a new light.
As an educator, I've understood that learning involves the whole person, not just mind or memory. It's also about a person's interests, their past, their hopes and fears. Then you understand what they are searching for and what they are resisting. A purely intellectual approach to learning is missing something critical. The same is true of how we understand ourselves.
This is the unique insight that I bring to every conversation: it is always an encounter a person with a history and with a depth to themselves that they are perhaps not even aware of. My aim is to help them to discover that for themselves and to resolve their inner conflicts, make firm on their resolutions, and determine the life that they want to live.

5+ years experience as tutor, 3 years of which as seminar leader for young adults and professionals. 3+ years in project management and as entrepreneur in education.
My method combines my experience as a Socratic educator and my experience in somatic awareness techniques. Socratic means discussion-based and questioning underlying assumptions together. This works well with personal coaching when it is combined with somatic awareness, meaning being more aware to the emotional and affective life of the body, as well as the things in the world that we are reactive to.
I'm using my experience in philosophy and teaching to help people reflect with greater depth and clarity about their professional situation, their relationships, and their dreams. I'm also helping people to think and feel differently about their anxieties, fears, sadness, and stresses.
I am not offering clinical therapy, only personal coaching and accompaniment as we explore your situation together. My clients are typically young adults but I have also coached professionals in the middle-to-late stage of their career.
Typical session is 45 minutes to 1 hour. 30 minutes is also possible.
