Emma has many good qualities to be an excellent tutor of Ancient Greek. Not only does she have a thorough knowledge and clear understanding of the language, but she is also well read in a wide range of authors of different time periods and genres. She is a true philhellene as well, a passionate student of ancient Greek culture more generally, and she readily shares this passion with others. It is difficult not to be carried along by the contagious fascination with the ancient world she lays bare when speaking about, say, Greek literature. As a Classics student at Heidelberg University I benefited greatly from the many interesting and most enjoyable conversations we had, not least because of her eloquence, her polite manners and her friendly character.
