About Dr D S
My name is Dr. D S Shetty, a BNYS Doctor, yoga teacher and practitioner with a strong academic foundation in yoga therapy, naturopathy, anatomy, physiology and holistic health. I am a three-time Guinness World Records holder and four-time Golden Book of World Records holder for achievements in yoga.
Although my personal practice includes advanced asanas and record-level performances, my teaching philosophy is based on safety, simplicity and individual progression. I enjoy helping complete beginners understand their bodies, practice with correct technique and develop consistency without comparison or pressure.
I believe yoga should be accessible, clearly explained and adapted to each individual rather than applying the same routine to everyone. My approach combines traditional yogic knowledge with evidence-informed understanding, careful observation and compassionate guidance.
I teach in Kannada and English and welcome students who want to improve their strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, breathing, mental well-being and overall quality of life through a safe and sustainable yoga practice.

My online yoga classes are personalized according to your fitness level, mobility, health considerations and individual goals. Sessions combine traditional Hatha Yoga with evidence-informed instruction in asanas, pranayama, meditation and relaxation. You will learn correct alignment, breathing techniques, safe entry and exit, common mistakes and gradual progressions instead of simply copying yoga poses.
The classes are suitable for complete beginners, intermediate practitioners, adults and seniors seeking better flexibility, mobility, strength, balance, posture, stress management, weight management or overall well-being. Each session may include warm-up practices, joint movements, yoga asanas, pranayama and guided relaxation, adapted to your comfort and capacity.
As a BNYS Doctor, I use an anatomy-based and individualized teaching approach while closely observing your technique. Instructions are available in Kannada, Hindi and English. Whether you are looking for personal online yoga training, beginner yoga classes or a consistent wellness routine, you will receive clear guidance and structured progression to help you develop a safe, confident and sustainable yoga practice
