Hi there! I’m a native Chinese speaker studying a double degree in Arts and Primary Education at Monash University, majoring in Chinese Studies. I’ve had the chance to teach Chinese at Malvern Primary School during my placement, so I understand how to make lessons fun and effective for kids. My tutoring approach is student-centered, flexible, and culturally responsive. I tailor each lesson to suit the learner’s goals, proficiency level, and learning style. For beginners, I focus on building a strong foundation in pinyin, vocabulary, and sentence structures through interactive activities and visual aids. For intermediate learners, I incorporate more speaking, reading, and writing practice with a focus on real-life communication and Chinese culture.
Lessons typically last 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the student's age and concentration span. I use a combination of digital tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Quizlet, and screen sharing via Zoom) to keep sessions engaging and interactive.
I am currently completing a double degree in Arts and Primary Education at Monash University, majoring in Chinese Studies. As a native Chinese speaker, I have experience teaching both beginner and intermediate level students, and I completed a placement teaching Chinese at Malvern Primary School.
My lessons are suitable for primary school students, beginner to intermediate learners, and anyone looking to build confidence in Mandarin for school, travel, or personal enrichment.
