About Aitana
My love for mathematics began with the enjoyment of solving puzzles and understanding patterns, which eventually led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics Education. Over the past six years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students from many different backgrounds—some who already loved math, and others who felt unsure or anxious about it. Helping each student build confidence and clarity has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. I believe math can feel approachable and even enjoyable when explained patiently and thoughtfully. Throughout my teaching journey, I’ve learned that every student has a unique way of understanding numbers, logic, and abstract ideas. Because of this, I focus on adapting my explanations to fit each learner’s thinking style. I enjoy using visual models, real-world examples, and structured reasoning techniques to help students feel comfortable with concepts that once felt difficult. Watching a student’s confidence grow as they begin to understand and enjoy the subject is one of the greatest rewards of teaching. Outside of lessons, I continue exploring mathematics through study, puzzles, creative problem sets, and research into new teaching approaches. I also love learning about how mathematics influences technology, science, nature, and everyday decision-making. These interests allow me to bring fresh, engaging ideas into my lessons, making the subject feel relevant and meaningful. I approach every session with patience and encouragement, ensuring students always feel supported and empowered throughout their learning journey.

My Maths lessons begin by building confidence through the essentials of elementary school math, where students explore number operations, place value, early fractions, and simple problem-solving habits. I make sure learners understand these concepts deeply, not just through repetition but through meaningful explanations that connect to their everyday experiences. This stage is gentle, patient, and supportive, allowing students to develop a reliable foundation that makes future topics far easier to understand.
As students advance, we transition into the wider world of middle school math, where they encounter expressions, equations, coordinate grids, ratios, and foundational geometry concepts. I guide learners through these ideas step by step, using visual aids, relatable examples, and reasoning-based explanations that make the subject feel approachable. We practice establishing logical thought patterns and building consistent problem-solving habits, helping students develop the confidence to analyze and work through unfamiliar questions.
For higher-level students or those preparing for algebra, geometry, and SAT math, we focus on deeper conceptual understanding, structured techniques, and strong exam reasoning. I teach students how to interpret problem structures, identify patterns, and choose efficient solution strategies. Through targeted exercises, timed practice, and methodical breakdowns, learners build the clarity and confidence needed for more advanced topics. My goal is to help students understand maths in a meaningful, intuitive way that stays with them long after the lessons end.
