About Lakmi
I am passionate about teaching and understand what makes a great tutor, having benefited from tutoring myself. I achieved an ATAR of 95.5 and am currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering and Business. For the past two years I’ve tutored high school maths, helping students turn difficult topics into strengths. I am friendly, persistent, and approachable, ensuring students feel supported while building confidence and improving results. I hold a valid Working With Children Check, have volunteered in high school STEM outreach programs, and provide personalised lesson notes tailored to each learner. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!

I love tailoring the tutoring experience to all students! Generally, I will start by focussing on particularly challenging topics as communicated by the student (and myself if they are unsure). First I will go through the content and highlight key points. Then I will cover a few examples starting from basic and increasing to challenging. Then I will ask the student to attempt a few questions themselves ranging from easy to hard- providing assistance where necessary.
I will be most helpful to students looking to learn and understand content, as well as those looking to strive above standard.

Perfect! Lakmi has been an amazing tutor for my daughter as she navigates her first year of high school. Lakmi goes above and beyond to ensure my daughter has confidence in her understanding of Maths and really goes the extra mile outside of classes providing additional revision and notes. My daughter is a very quiet and reserved person, Lakmi has patiently and successfully coaxed her out of her shell. It is amazing to see her confidence and personal development blossom. Lakmi is a wonderful maths tutor with a strong work ethic and a friendly demeanour. She approaches tutoring with a calm but open manner, offering advice and encouragement to her students that supports and guides them to success. The amount of work, effort and time she puts into providing resources (such as notes and questions organised by her) and personalising her teaching to the students’ needs is clearly evident, whether in person or online. She is always happy to answer questions, provide detailed solutions or explanations and assist in whatever way the student needs while doing so in a professional and friendly way, with a genuine smile on her face. I highly recommend her as a maths tutor, whether for early high school or VCE grade math
