About Alexis
My connection with mathematics developed through a deep appreciation for patterns, structure, and logical problem solving. This passion led me to earn a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics, where I explored both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Over the past 10 years, I have helped students from various academic backgrounds overcome math anxiety and develop confidence through patient, structured guidance.
I believe successful math teaching depends on understanding how each student thinks. My approach focuses on adapting explanations, using visual models, and reinforcing learning through guided practice and repetition. I create a calm learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes without fear. This supportive atmosphere allows learners to grow steadily and confidently.
Outside teaching, I continue engaging with mathematics through problem-solving practice, educational research, and curriculum development. This ongoing learning helps me refine my methods and remain adaptable. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because I see students transform frustration into clarity and self-belief.
