About Emily
I am Emily and I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles, where I developed a strong academic foundation in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Biochemistry! I have 8 years of tutoring experience and have worked with learners from elementary and middle school through High School and introductory College Chemistry! During my university years, I participated in undergraduate laboratory projects involving reaction analysis and chemical identification, which strengthened my ability to connect classroom theory with experimental thinking! I particularly enjoy helping students who initially believe Chemistry is too complicated because I have seen how quickly their confidence can change when concepts are explained through the right examples! I have also supported students preparing for school science examinations, advanced placement coursework, laboratory assignments, and challenging Chemistry projects! My teaching style is patient but purposeful: I encourage students to explain their reasoning rather than simply give me an answer! I believe this approach develops stronger scientific thinking and helps students become more independent learners!

I teach Chemistry to K-12 learners with a clear, practical approach that turns difficult scientific ideas into lessons students can actually understand and remember! My Chemistry sessions are designed for Junior School, Middle School, High School, and early College students who want stronger foundations, better grades, or extra support with challenging topics! I build an individual learning plan after understanding each student's current level, school curriculum, learning pace, and academic goals! My lessons can cover atomic structure, periodic trends, chemical bonding, balancing equations, acids and bases, stoichiometry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, electrochemistry, and introductory Industrial Chemistry! Instead of relying only on textbook explanations, I use everyday examples such as cooking reactions, cleaning products, batteries, medicines, food preservation, and environmental chemistry to show where Chemistry appears in real life! I also use guided problem-solving, visual reaction maps, short challenges, virtual demonstrations, and question-based activities to keep younger learners involved throughout the lesson! For High School students, I provide structured exam preparation, homework and assignment assistance, laboratory-report guidance, revision schedules, and practice with multi-step Chemistry problems! I regularly check progress through mini-assessments, topic reviews, and personalized feedback so students can clearly see which areas are improving and which skills need more attention! My goal is to help students stop memorizing Chemistry mechanically and start understanding why reactions happen, how evidence supports scientific conclusions, and how to approach unfamiliar questions with confidence!
