About Cassandra
Hello! My name is Cassandra, and I am an Honors Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering student at the University of New Haven with a 3.87 GPA. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in STEM subjects and discover that challenging concepts can become manageable with the right guidance.
In addition to my coursework, I have been selected for a competitive NSF-funded research program and currently work as an undergraduate researcher studying environmental and energy-related engineering topics. My experience includes chemistry, mathematics, engineering analysis, physics, and scientific research, giving me both a strong academic foundation and practical problem-solving skills.
Beyond research, I serve in leadership roles with the Society of Women Engineers and American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), where I regularly communicate technical concepts and mentor students through STEM outreach activities. I have presented engineering and chemistry topics to learners ranging from elementary school students to college peers.
Whether you are preparing for an exam, working through homework, or looking to strengthen your understanding of a subject, I am committed to creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment that helps you achieve your goals and become a more confident learner.

As a tutor, I focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than simply memorizing steps or formulas. I break down complex topics into manageable pieces, explain the reasoning behind each step, and guide students through practice problems until they feel confident working independently.
A typical lesson includes reviewing key concepts, working through examples together, identifying areas of confusion, and practicing similar problems with support as needed. I adapt my teaching style to each student's learning preferences and academic goals.
What sets me apart is my combination of strong academic performance, research experience, and STEM outreach experience. As an Honors Chemical Engineering student and NSF-funded undergraduate researcher, I have experience communicating challenging technical topics to learners of different ages and backgrounds.
Lessons are available for middle school, high school, and college students seeking support in mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering, and other STEM subjects.
