About Aeon
Hey everyone! I'm Aeon, a year 11 student at Melbourne High School (one of Victoria's top selective entry schools, ranked #2).
Qualifications:
- Previous student in the ACE program at Ringwood Secondary College
- Current student at Melbourne High School — 3x superiors
- A grade average across diverse subjects
- Top 10% in the Australasian Math Olympiad award
- 4x Academic awards in year 7-8
Experience:
- Tutored my sister to get into The MacRobertson’s Girls High School, another top selective school
- Over 2 years of tutoring family friends and classmates fortnightly in English and Math ↓

There’s nothing worse than wanting to reach for that last percentage point in your tests but can’t quite get there. Or sitting in a class where your pace doesn’t match the teacher’s. As a relatable student myself, I help to guide every student through those same roadblocks I went through in a way that builds comprehension and curiosity.
I aim to be intentional and effective with every lesson, with a clear timeline of lessons and in-depth preparation. I also understand academic pressure and when advanced concepts seem foreign - but I also believe that that resistance only leads to deeper learning!
Lessons can be any length depending on your needs - online or in-person across Melbourne.
My lessons are for students in primary to Year 9, looking for support or extension in:
- English (writing, grammar, reading comprehension)
- Maths (algebra, geometry, probability, problem solving)
- Extras (school test and exam prep, scholarship and selective schools entry tests, leadership help, NAPLAN)

Aeon Yu is one of the best math tutors you can find, a true gem. He is very hardworking and responsible, but he somehow makes learning fun and effortless. Math feels as easy as the alphabet, while still being able to retain the knowledge relatively easily.
Aeon has been an amazing friend, classmate, but most importantly, teacher. He's incredibly dedicated, hard-working, and most importantly, resilient.
