I have 9+ years experience in teaching yoga. And I have done my teachers' training course from the prestigious The Yoga Institute, Mumbai

Methodology

I focus on the instructions that I give making it as clear and easily doable as possible along with maximising the level of effectiveness. Every class is customised based on clients requirement. Basic structure of the class starts with meditation then goes on to stretching, aasans, pranayams and ends with relaxation so as to include each aspect of the yoga practice in each session.

Yoga is just not about physically fitness but also mental fitness. Therefore my classes include yoga aasans, pilates, prananyams, meditation and also certain activities to increase focus and concentration.
I have taught yoga to corporates, working individuals, elderly people and people with specific medical conditions.
I have also taught clients based in USA, UK, Dubai, Germany, Australia and Singapore through online classes.

Perfect! Ruchi makes the classes super fun and interesting by teaching not just yoga but other exercises as well which helps one increase their body strength. The exercises are catered as per your goals and body type. Over the past one month, different types of exercises and asanas have been taught every class, focusing on different parts of the body. I have managed to observe the changes in my own body. The exercises have helped me strengthen my core and also I can now stay in the plank position for a good 2 minutes. My flexibility and stamina has also improved a lot with her help and encouragement. Along with the yoga, you also receive tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle so one can see the extended positive effect of the yoga in their day to day activities too. The classes are conducted in a disciplined and structured, making the one hour session a productive one. Looking forward to another month of yoga!

Perfect! I've really enjoyed Ruchi's yoga lessons. Her classes are tailored to the individual and contain a good mix of yoga flow sequences and asanas. The classes also include some general fitness exercises which I've found beneficial. I live in London so have been doing the classes online which has worked well. Ruchi is an excellent yoga teacher and I would highly recommend her classes.

Perfect! Ruchi is a great teacher. She is very professional and knows what she is doing. I started taking classes from her few weeks back and can see a difference. I live in USA and was not doing any kind of physical activity so when I started I was in pretty bad shape but within weeks I got results. She customizes the classes as per the student’s need and I think that was the game changer. She added a lot of boot camp exercises in addition to yoga and that is really helping me. So she is your personal trainer who really knows how to customize the training sessions so that the clients get the maximum benefit.And since the classes are online I don’t have to go to the gym and can exercise in the comfort of my home . Perfect! Ruchi is very knowledgeable around the poses, their benefits and what I appreciate is her effort in making sure that the poses are correctly done. The sessions are well designed keeping in mind my objectives. She constantly seeks feedback and tailors the sessions based on feedback.
I have been taking the sessions online and have not felt much difference with personal face to face classes with other teachers.

I thoroughly enjoy the sessions and intend to continue forward.

I love it! In every class we do a full body workout along with special focus on one specific body part, sometimes it is core, shoulders, legs, it always varies. It is tough but also approachable and not daunting. You feel your muscles working immediately. I am elated with the progress I have made so far.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Ruchi — Yoga had been a very big part of my childhood. Growing up I would watch my parents do yoga aasans and meditation every single day. I was always intrigued by it and enjoyed doing it myself. So later on I decided to get professionally trained in it and that is how my journey in teaching started.

What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
Ruchi — My biggest motivation is that I get to help people and bring a difference to their lives. My happiest moment is when a student tells me that they had a great class or they can visibly see a difference in their body and how they feel.

How does your work help society?
Ruchi — Health is the biggest asset one can have. And yoga helps all of us to be mentally and physically healthy. If as a society all of us are fit and focused then we can achieve our goals and the entire community can prosper as a whole.

If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
Ruchi — It has to be my mom. She comes from a medical background and is a yoga practitioner herself. I have learnt a lot from her not just about yoga aasans but also about meditation, diet and values system in life. She is the best!

Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Ruchi — Outside of yoga I enjoy doing Pilates and practicing Ayurveda. I also enjoy travelling to places having a lot of scenic beauty especially mountains.

Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
Ruchi — Around a year back, a student had contacted me who was dealing with stress and mild depression. Her stress level had built up so much that she had gained five kilos of weight and also developed a cyst. After training her for for around four months, her cyst had gradually disappeared. The day she called to tell me this, it was one of the happiest and proudest moments of my yoga journey personally.
