About Joyce
Hello! I’m a native Mandarin Chinese speaker who grew up in Taipei, Taiwan, where I lived for the first 18 years of my life. I hold master’s degrees from Harvard University and UCLA, with an academic background spanning Education Policy and Social Science.
I am fully fluent in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I also teach Classical Chinese (文言文) and have experience in Chinese-English translation, proofreading, and academic writing.
What makes my teaching unique is the combination of my native-level language expertise and advanced academic training. My background in education and research allows me to quickly understand new subjects, identify how people learn best, and turn complex concepts into clear, engaging, and easy-to-understand learning materials.
