My goal is to turn "math is hard and I'll never use this in my future" to "math is fun and it's all around me!"
I like to find a connection between a student's interest and math. I use hands on methods and creative shortcut's to better explain a concept that can seem difficult to one's study. I am very patient because, let's admit it, math can be confusing! But it will be my goal to help someone understand it!
Think of math as a puzzle. There are different rules to follow for you to solve this puzzle, and I am a BIG lover of practice of examples. I provide a simple example with step by step work and explain why each step was made. As a student progresses, their love for math grows. There is a joy that comes when you see someone understand a concept they found difficult and it boosts their confidence. I want to show others that math can be for anyone!
I have experience tutoring students in grades 6th-12th grade, as well as basic College Algebra.
