About Laura

I have varied experiences working with children. I am currently in my 13th year of teaching high school mathematics, and have taught Basic Math through AP Calculus. I have also tutored various levels of math, from Elementary School students through college students taking Multivariable Calculus. I truly enjoy working with students and having the opportunity to see them persevere through the problem solving process and be able to have that Aha! moment.

I can hold tutoring sessions via Zoom or in person.

I enjoy building a positive and trusting relationship with my students, so that they feel comfortable enough to ask questions and to try different approaches.

I have always enjoyed working with kids. In high school, I coached gymnastics and worked as an aide at an elementary school while in college. As a freshman in college, I started tutoring, and was able to help a student raise her grade from a C to an A in her mathematics class. The joy I saw in her and myself was amazing, and helped me to decide to pursue a career in teaching.

I have been teaching high school mathematics for 13 years, and have tutored students ranging from elementary to college level.
