About Kammie
I have taught middle school math for the past 11 years, with 6 years of elementary education experience before that. I am now staying at home with my 2 and 4 year old daughters, but would still love to help students solidify their math foundation. I have done private tutoring for the past 10 years and have always enjoyed working one on one with students. Although I hold a bachelor's degree in elementary education and middle school math and a master's degree in education, I find my experience as a teacher and tutor much more valuable.
I love being able to help students on an individual basis and find ways to explain math to them to help them understand difficult concepts. I love middle school students and miss working with them on a daily basis.
I have tutored remotely via FaceTime or zoom for the past three years since the pandemic began.
I majored in elementary education and middle school math in college and never looked back.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Education. I also have four years experience homeschooling a family of ten kids, six years of teaching experience overseas, and seven years teaching middle school math in a private school in the Bay Area. I have also done private one on one tutoring for the past 9 years.

It depends on the needs of the student. I prefer to work with students who need extra support with their daily school work. Typically, I like to have the students work on their homework or what needs to be done for school. I can offer support with that work and provide extra practice for current or prerequisite skills to master the new concepts. With many students currently doing distance learning, it may be difficult for some students to feel confident in their understanding of new concepts without the extra support of a tutor.
I have worked with a wide variety of students. The majority of students I have privately tutored have needed just an extra boost of confidence or a little extra explanation of concepts. I do not have training or much experience working with students with severe special needs.
Find someone that you mesh well together. Finding a personality that you get along well with is the biggest key to success in tutoring.
The most recent event I am most fond of is welcoming my two daughters into my life.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should ask about if the teacher can meet their needs whether that is helping with homework or providing extra work for them. They should also meet in person, if possible, to see if they seem to get along well.
