About Ryan
Hello, I am a part time math tutor here in Fayetteville with lots of experience in high functioning special needs tutoring. I have worked with students over the 5 years in math topics ranging from arithmetic all the way to calculus. I have helped students with a variety of needs such as grade improvement, learning math with learning disabilities, competitive math and exam preparation. In 2023, I completed my BS in Applied and Computational Mathematics from DePaul University. I am currently in the military and pursuing a graduate degree in information technology. I got started when in my algebra 2 class in sophomore year of highschool. I remember we were doing conic sections and a few of my friends were really struggling with them. Seeing my friends stuggle, I started to help them out and before I knew it I was tutoring.

I like to start by talking with the student about their goals and gaining an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
I have worked with a mix of students at varying age and skill levels. The large majority of my students tend to be in middle or highschool and need help with algebra.
Look for a teacher that is genuinely excited and motivated by math. Also make sure that your teacher moves at a pace that is beneficial to you. You want your teacher to push you but not overwhelm you. And always remember that teachers teach because they like their students and they are rooting for you.
Recently I worked with some other students at DePaul University to see how large a pile of 1,000,000 squirels would be. I quite enjoyed being able to bond with friends through math.
