I have just graduated with a PhD from the University of Oxford where I studied organic chemistry. Prior to this I graduated in the top 5% of my cohort with a first class degree in chemistry also from the University of Oxford. I enjoy teaching and have taught all areas of chemistry at GCSE and A-level/IB, and organic chemistry at undergraduate level.
I have worked for several years as a graduate tutor at the University of Oxford and delivered tutorials to undergraduate students including marking termly college examinations. I’m patient and enthusiastic and I’m very happy to help you with any area of chemistry. I’m also available to give interview preparation and careers advice upon request, including CV/cover letter proofreading.

I understand that exams are often daunting for students (I’ve done a lot myself!) so I do everything I can to prepare you to be confident and as relaxed as possible going into your exams. I incorporate exam technique and past paper questions into my lessons wherever possible. Some students need help with a particular topic so I think of several different ways of explaining things both orally and visually. I pride myself on make my lessons interactive and engaging - I’ve even been made cards in the past to thank me for my teaching which has been incredibly rewarding!
I can deliver my lessons online using all major platforms e.g. Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp, whatever is preferred by my students.

Max tutored me in person last year for degree level chemistry and was a big help in improving my grades. He is definitely very skilled in this subject and should have no problem in tutoring those at the same level or below. He is a thoughtful and patient tutor who always ensured that I understood each question before moving on and gave me some great exam technique tips that I had never considered!
