About Nombuso
Some might erroneously attribute my passion for educating to me enjoying the sound of my own voice, but I promise it is not so. I have always had an immense love for sharing all the knowledge I acquire for the betterment of all people.
I am presently working as a Sustainability Officer at one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in South Africa and am presently in the process of completing my Masters in Economics.
I have an undergraduate degree in Ecos and Finance, and and Honours in Economics. Throughout my high school and university career I have managed to amass tutoring experience which exceeds 10 years. Subjects I am capable of teaching are Mathematics (primary school - first-year university), Accounting (High school), and Economics Game Theory (university second level). However, I have a bias towards Mathematics as it is the first subject I came to love and just had a natural affinity towards since I can remember.
I desire to one day change the misconception around Mathematics and instil in other the same passion I have for it, while dismantling the notions that it is hard and only for a select few individuals.

I try first to understand the student's way of thinking (behavioural economics101) and use this to find a way to best address their areas of concern. Thereafter, I can discern what needs more attention and tackle any possible insecurities and fears from the get-go.
I teach in English and speak isiZulu; from high school to university level.
A typical lesson with me entails recap session to ensure learnings from previous lessons are understood and not merely regurgitated information. Then I will go over the objectives of the present lesson for the student to be aware of the topic and raise any concerns. I encourage active participation and try to model my teaching style to the different personalities for optimal results.
