About George
I have tutored students ages anywhere from 5yrs to 18yrs old. Some of them hated math and some of them loved it— most students were somewhere in between, but there is no student I wouldn’t want to work with! No matter what, the student and I will work together on meeting set goals. At the very least, I promise to help the student feel more confident in themselves and their learning, and instill the belief that they can do challenging things!

The world around us is exceptionally complex, and math is the universal language that helps us understand it. All of it, not just the boring parts! We can use math to build bridges, or a championship basketball team. Math can be used to win elections, or bake a cake. No matter what you’re interested in, you can view math through that lens. I want to help students find that lens, one through which they find math less intimidating, through which they can let their curiosity lead, through which they can actually have fun doing math. I emphasize socratic methods and deductive logic, as I look to give the students a solid framework for thinking analytically and solving challenging questions on their own. Students will learn how to break down problems they don’t understand, and how related concepts work together intuitively.
