About McKinley
I have taught a variety of dance styles since I was eighteen years old! I have been a recreational teacher and a competitive teacher! It is my belief that all students should have the opportunity to grow in a safe and welcoming environment regardless of background, disabilities, or any other outside factors. As a teacher, it is my job to advocate for the student in and outside of the classroom! I have trained in a variety of dance genres (ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and musical theater) since I was eight years old, and I have been a dance educator and competition choreographer since I was eighteen years old. I won choreography and entertainment awards and national titles in my time as a competition choreographer. I have worked with High School and Junior High dance teams, including the Morton Ranch Maverick Belles and the Conway Wampus Cats. I am also certified to teach dance in Texas public schools for grades 6-12. I specialize in tap dance technique and performance. I was a member of the professional tap group, UnTapped, before moving to Houston two summers ago, and I attended the Little Rock Tap Festival for many years as a younger student.
