I studied mathematics at Cambridge University in UK. I feel maths education in schools is somewhat limited and extra background is needed for students intending to participate in competitions. I offer private tutoring for mathematically gifted students who are interested in mathematical olympiads. I can also serve as a person who can provide classes that expand on the school curriculum and provide mathematical enrichment.
I seek students who have an intense passion, and curiosity for the subject and who wish to major in mathematics or a related subject after high school If you are a person with those attributes you would probably feel dissatisfied with both the content and method of teaching in high school and want a deeper understanding of topics. A fun self-assessment before contacting me is the following check: You probably learnt about quadratic equations and know a neat little formula for solving them. Have you wondered if there is some similar method for solving a 3rd degree polynomial eqaution.Have you tried discovering a formula for solving these cubics? How about for other polynomial equations of higher degree? If these questions never surfaced in your mind, organically, then I am probably not the right person for you. I do not teach formulas or encourage roting. I develop the student's capacity for thought, exploration and mathematical discovery.
