About Varnika
I am a 20 year old female. I was studying Actuarial Science at the University of Pretoria. Next year I will be completing my Mathematics and Statistics degree through UNISA.
During high school, I always used to help fellow students who were having difficulties with certain topics.
Some of my greatest strengths are that I’m very adaptable and patient. I lean on these qualities heavily while I’m tutoring. I try and adjust my teaching methods for different students. I think this helps keep students engaged and motivated with the material, and my patience allows them to move at their own learning pace comfortably. I also have very good communication skills. This is very important as it is my task to get information across without there being any misunderstandings.

I make my lessons engaging and encourage students to participate. I can adjust and adapt my teaching style to suit students with different learning speeds. I am patient and will not move on from a topic unless I am sure I have done my best to prepare a student for every topic.
I always start a lesson by first covering the basics of a topic. This is to determine how much I need to cover in the topic. We will do some examples together and ensure their foundation of the topic is strong. When the student knows the basics we move on to higher level examples and then onto exam type questions. After each topic I like to make a summary of all the important formulae and notes of exceptions to the formulae.
My lessons are taught in English and I can teach students Math from Grade 4 to 12. I can do online lessons and meet face-to-face for lessons. I am available at any time during the week, even weekends. I also do not have a problem with students messaging me problems they have trouble with.
