About Akarsha
Hi, I'm Akarsha! I'm currently completing a Master of Actuarial Practice at Macquarie University, building on a First Class Bachelor of Business (Economics & Finance) from RMIT University and top A-Level results in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics and Economics.
I've been tutoring Mathematics, Statistics and Economics for over 8 years, working with students from primary school through to HSC and first-year university, across the Sri Lankan local syllabus, Edexcel International, and Cambridge International curricula. I've helped students go from dreading math to genuinely enjoying it, including guiding a student through his entire A-Level Mathematics qualification independently, where he achieved an overall A grade.
I bring the same care and attention to detail from my professional background. Having worked as a Senior Business Analyst at MAS Holdings and a KYC Analyst at the London Stock Exchange Group — into every lesson: reliable, well-prepared, and genuinely invested in each student's progress. I take a practical, example-driven approach to tutoring — whenever I teach a concept, I follow it up immediately with a real-life example so it actually clicks and sticks, rather than feeling abstract. I focus on understanding a student's specific gaps early, explaining things step-by-step, and building confidence through consistent practice, especially past papers closer to exam time. I'm patient, encouraging, and adapt my pace and style to how each student learns best.
