About Kira

I was a gymnast and competitive cheerleader for 13 years. I began taking yoga lessons in 2016, and I became certified to teach Vinyasa Flow yoga in December 2018. Both of my degrees (Bachelor's and Master's) are in environmental and outdoor education. I like to combine both of my passions by doing yoga and meditation outdoors. Join me in practice to slow down, focus on our breath, and feel our deep connection to the Earth and to the Universe.

About the class

I am very focused on foundational strength and proper alignment. My background in gymnastics has given me a wealth of knowledge in this area. I spent three years coaching gymnastics, so I am comfortable assisting and adjusting students. That being said, I also view yoga as a personal journey and I believe listening to our bodies is the most important thing we can do. It is more important to be comfortable in a pose than to have what might only appear to be "perfect" alignment. I am compassionate towards others and I aim to find the balance between loving where our body is at and gently pushing the boundaries of where we can go. I use this approach in both the physical asana practice and the spiritual meditation practice.

My name is Trisha Gaines and I am a personal trainer and wellness expert in Southern California. I have gotten to know Kira West professionally through the health and fitness industry and have had the pleasure of attending several of her yoga classes.
Kira is an amazing yoga instructor. She is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of yoga-physical, emotional and spiritual. Through her own experience with yoga she has become very attuned to listening the body, and encourages students to do the same.
Kira is prompt, organized and an excellent listener. She puts a vast amount of thought into her yoga sequencing and flows, which makes for an awesome experience in her class.
One of the best instructors I have ever attended class with.

My name is Michael Baez and I am the creator and master trainer of the Awakened Warrior Yoga Teacher Training.

For the past 8 years, we have been offering 200 & 300-hour trainings in New York and in L.A. I have personally
trained and certified over 200 students from all over the world.

And can I honestly say Kira is not only one of our graduates, she’s one of the very best graduates we’ve ever had! During her 200-hour teacher training with me, she was incredibly dedicated, focused, committed and progressed at an unbelievably fast pace.

If I owned a studio I would hire her on the spot. She has subbed for me at Crossfit studio that I teach at that is owned by a Lululemon ambassador and the feedback on Kira's class was top notch! The students loved her and they have specifically requested her to sub for me if I'm ever out again.
