About Leyla
Leyla is a yoga teacher and meditation guide with a mission to hold safe spaces to facilitate healing through movement and somatic practices.
Born and raised in Istanbul, Leyla moved to Los Angeles to study cognitive science at the University of Southern California. During her time at USC,Leyla became a practitioner of yoga with the intention of healing the chronic scoliosis on her back. The practice transformed her relationship with her body, mind and spirit and she developed a deep passion for guiding others through the healing journey.
Leyla holds a 200 hour yoga teacher training certificate with the EastWest Yoga Alliance along with a 100 hour meditation teacher training course from the same organization. Her classes are mindfully sequenced, infused with fluid movement and creative transitions with emphasis on prana and playfulness.

Before each class, I chat with my student about what they're looking for from the session and design it based on their body and needs. Each class starts with a guided meditation followed by movement and are often infused with somatic practices such as breathwork, reiki and kundalini kriyas.
Here are some examples of things we can work on together:
- Introduction to yoga, alignments of basic poses and building a home practice
- Learning about the chakras and how to hone your practice to your specific needs
- Using movement and breath for emotional release and relaxation, a more slower paced practice with longer holds
- Inversions, arm balances and preparing the body for more advanced poses
