About Lyla
I am a neuroscience graduate now based in London, UK. Alongside my work, I have consistently participated in organising orchestral and ensemble performance, music education, and tutoring opportunities throughout my life since I was 14.
Apart from the fact that I love and breathe music, music can be a life-long tool for learning about yourself and the world around you, and it has connected me to others in an invaluable and unexpected way! It is also a powerful therapeutic tool.
This made me passionate about sharing that love for music and providing opportunities for people to show that picking up an an instrument and creating music is an accessible and fulfilling activity.

From 30 minutes to 2 hours, my lessons can vary depending on the client's goal. Likewise, players of any age and level are welcome!
I take creative measures in advising technical skills to improve playing efficiency and ease, and to heighten musical freedom. It is important for me to take into account a client's learning style.
If a client wishes, I can incorporate practices (Alexander Techique) to emphasise physical relaxation — paramount to creating a healthy sound (and a healthy body and posture!).
I have taught from 1 to 50+ students at a time, with knowledge in chamber music, not just solo performance. My level covers all ABRSM grades. I am also able to teach in English and Japanese fluently.
