About Rohan
Namaste — I'm Rohan, a Trinity-trained violinist with 10+ years of teaching experience, and I run dedicated online violin lessons for NRI families and adult learners settled across the USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Singapore, Australia, and Europe. Weekend and weekday-evening slots are reserved specifically around your local time zone, so the class fits your life — not the other way around.
Over the years, more than 50 violin students from India and abroad have trained with me — preparing for Trinity College London graded examinations, performing in school recitals, or simply learning to play the Bollywood and Western pieces they grew up loving. Whether your child is a complete beginner picking up the bow for the first time, an intermediate player working toward their next grade, or you're an adult NRI rediscovering an instrument you set aside years ago — there's a structured path here for you.
What makes our online violin classes work: I teach across three repertoire tracks — Western Classical (Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Pachelbel and graded exam pieces), Hindustani-style violin (raag-based melodic phrases, alaap, light classical), and Bollywood & Film melodies (the songs your family will instantly recognise when you play them at the next gathering). Each student gets a customised mix based on what genuinely lights them up.
The lessons themselves are conducted on a professional broadcast-quality streaming setup — synchronised multi-camera angles showing bow technique, left-hand fingering, and posture in real time, paired with studio-grade audio. Multiple parents have told me this is the closest online music education has felt to sitting in the same room as the teacher. After every class, I send detailed practice notes by email so even the busiest NRI families can track exactly what was covered and what to practise during the week.
I trained on violin under the Trinity College London graded syllabus, alongside my pianist background, and our teaching methodology has been featured in Google News. Beyond performance, we also actively prepare violin students for Trinity Initial through Grade 8 examinations.
Book your free 30-minute demo. Tell me your goal — exam prep, your child's first violin lesson, or the one song you've always wanted to play — and let's design the right learning journey together.

Our violin classes are designed around one principle: NRI students and global learners don't have time for slow, retention-driven curricula. Every session targets a measurable outcome — a clean bow stroke, a piece you can play start to finish, an exam grade earned. We move with respect for your pace, but never with wasted time.
The Three Repertoire Tracks
Every student picks the mix that suits them. Most blend two or three.
1. Western Classical & Trinity Graded Pathway — Bach Minuets, Vivaldi's Spring, Pachelbel's Canon, Mozart Allegros, and the full Trinity College London graded violin syllabus from Initial through Grade 8. Theory, sight reading, scales, arpeggios, and aural skills are woven in naturally as each grade demands.
2. Hindustani-Style Violin — Raag-based melodic phrases, alaap, jod, basic gat structures, and light classical pieces. Adapted for solo violin without needing a tabla partner, so you can practise meaningfully on your own between lessons.
3. Bollywood & Film Melodies — From classic R.D. Burman and Madan Mohan compositions to A.R. Rahman, Pritam, and contemporary film songs. This is the track most adult NRI learners gravitate toward — the songs you grew up hearing at home that now reconnect you to where you came from.
The Four Pillars of Every Lesson
Regardless of which track you choose, every class is built on:
Technique — Bow hold, posture, left-hand frame, intonation, bow distribution. The fundamentals that separate a player from a violinist. We use Sevcik, Wohlfahrt, and Hrimaly etudes graded to your level.
Theory & Notation — Western staff notation, key signatures, time signatures, dynamics, and where relevant the Hindustani notation system (Sa Re Ga Ma). You learn the language so the music makes sense.
Scales & Bowing Patterns — Major, minor (natural / melodic / harmonic), and pentatonic scales aligned with the Trinity violin syllabus, alongside bowing patterns — détaché, legato, staccato, spiccato — graded to your level.
Repertoire & Performance — The pieces you actually came here to learn. We rotate through your chosen tracks, building a personal repertoire library that grows month after month.
The Studio Setup
Online violin teaching only works if you can clearly see what the teacher is doing. Our setup uses synchronised multi-camera angles — top-down on the fingerboard, a side view of the bow arm, and a face view for general communication. Studio-grade audio captures bow articulation and intonation with the clarity that earbuds and laptop mics simply cannot. Most NRI parents tell us within the first session that this feels closer to in-person than they expected.
Designed For
Complete beginners (kids ages 7+ and adults), intermediate players preparing for their next Trinity grade, advanced learners targeting Grade 5–8 or Diploma level, and adult NRIs picking up violin after a long break. Lessons available in English, Hindi, and Bengali.
NRI-Friendly Time Zones
Saturday and Sunday slots specifically reserved for families in the USA (PST / EST), UK (GMT), Canada (PST / EST), UAE (GST), Singapore (SGT), and Australia (AEST). Weekday IST evenings also available for India-based learners and Gulf-region NRIs.
Practice Notes & Progress Tracking
After every class, students and parents receive structured practice notes via email — exactly what was covered, what to practise this week, and which video clips to refer back to. Even the busiest NRI families can track their child's progress without needing to attend every session live.

He is an excellent teacher, he is amazingly supportive and patient with kids.I highly recommend him for anyone who is starting out or has limited experience wishing to refine their skills.
I have been learning from sir 6 months now . I must say that Rohan’s teaching style is unique and amazing .
I have had a introductory class and a first session with him and I found his approach to teaching extremely novel and easy to grasp. He teaches the theory of music and has excellent arrangements for teaching online. I found him to be very sincere and a committed teacher. His methodology is very inspiring and makes you want to learn from him more. More importantly he has a lot of patience in teaching. Jayaraman
Rohan is a rare example of someone who's excellent at their craft and at the same time knows how to teach it too. I learn so much about music from each class and have a lot of fun while at it. I have never been able to go this far with learning an instrument and am truly grateful to Rohan for being such an amazing teacher!
We have been doing classes with Rohan for our twin boys for the last six months and he is just amazing with the kids. Great content, lots of patience and support for the kids. We and kids love Rohan sir. Highly recommend.
Our kid have been doing vitual keyboard class with Rohan for 6 months now. He is very professional and compansionate. He makes the learning hour fun. Notes from the class are sent via email after the class for us to practice. We thought virtually it would be immposible to learn an instrument. But he has a good camera setup for his keyboard and has a keyboard simulator which shoes which keys are being pressed. Highly recommended
I have known Rohan for a long time and he has been one of my closest friends. I have performed with him on several occasions and not only is he a talented musician but a very understanding co-performer. Also, I have had the opportunity to closely observe him as a teacher and he is one of the most understanding and intuitive teachers I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He is kind and empathetic towards his students and guides them accordingly.
I have been a friend of Rohan's for many years and have performed with him on stage numerous times. He is one of the most kind, empathetic and understanding person I have known. I have also seen him teach music to students first hand and he is able to inspire and inculcate the same passion he himself has or music in his students. He is also extremely patient in his temperament and is provides individual care and attention to each of his students.
I think Rohan is a trustworthy teacher because the way he plays both the instruments piano & synth in an amazing style which shows his professionalism towards music.
I had heard many covers of rohan and got inspired from him. He has many innovative ideas which I think a teacher needs to train students from root training and understanding of the art of music and yet he teaches with symplicity and ease tailored to his students interest and area of interests. His skills in vocal ,voice and combination of hearing and play the notes of different tunes was apparently gifted by the God himself.
He has miraculously developed the skill of music and has in fact to the astonishment of best of the musician has showcased the God’s gift to the who’s who of the music circle. He is used to play any kind of song on piano by node knowledge.View more recommendations
