About Tom
I am a student at The University of Durham. I obtained A*s in both Maths and Further Maths and an A in physics at A-level.
I used to volunteer at my school and assist in a GCSE class (of around 30 pupils) for which the head of maths gave me a community award. ( This has currently been postponed as face to face lessons are no longer happening)
I also did one-to-one mentoring with pupils that the school think need extra help in particular subjects.
I mainly want to tutor maths and further maths, but I am open to tutoring other sciences as well.

Teaching methods, in my opinion, should vary based on the student and where they are currently with their understanding, you need to know what works best for them. I always start by getting to know what the student currently knows, and then build from there. I try and give little memory tips and tricks to try and remember or understand something better.
I also have access to a wide range of past paper questions from a variety of exam boards.
