About Katie
I’m a French and Politics student at the University of Edinburgh, and I’ve always really enjoyed learning languages. I spent a year studying in Paris, which helped me become much more confident speaking French and gave me a lot more experience using the language day to day.
I want to teach French because I enjoy helping other people become more confident with the language, while also continuing to improve my own French through teaching and speaking with students. I know from my own experience that French can sometimes feel difficult, so I want my lessons to be relaxed, friendly and something students actually enjoy.

I like to keep my lessons relaxed, friendly and tailored to each student. I focus on making French feel practical and enjoyable, while also working on the specific areas they find difficult. Depending on the student, this could include speaking practice, grammar, vocabulary, reading and listening, or working through past papers and exam technique.
Lessons can be up to 2 hours, depending on what works best for the student. I’m happy to adapt the length and structure of each lesson rather than following the exact same format every time.
I study French and Politics at the University of Edinburgh and have studied French throughout school and university, including spending a year studying in Paris. I have experience with the AQA GCSE and A-Level French courses myself, but I’m happy to teach students following any exam board.
I’m happy to teach students of different ages and levels, from beginners through to GCSE and A-Level. I can also adapt lessons depending on whether the student wants to improve their general French, prepare for exams or simply become more confident speaking French. All lessons are online.
