My approach to tutoring will typically involve a preliminary introduction to each topic and how it is approached, followed by some worked examples where we will tackle some increasingly challenging problems together with the latter part of each session consisting of you working through more problems.
Throughout my tutoring process, I will:
- Assess your current areas of weakness via a practice paper and discussions
- Prescribe a lesson plan for topic areas to target
- Assess your familiarity with each topic by having you work through questions whilst talking me through the steps you take
- Re-teach you the topic in accordance with your familiarity
- Demonstrate a few worked examples for you
- Complete some worked examples with you together, increasing in difficulty
- Prescribe some example questions for you to tackle during the session and your own time
- Verify your newly instated knowledge
