About Megan
Hi! I’m Megan, a first-year science student at UBC tutoring Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics online and in person. Having recently graduated with top marks in advanced high school STEM courses, I understand exactly where students get stuck and how to break down complex concepts.
My lessons focus on clarity, targeted practice, and structured reinforcement. After each session, students receive short, written summary notes to help with active recall. I am punctual, patient, and bilingual—fluent in both English and Cantonese depending on what the student is most comfortable with.
Availability: Weekday evenings (online) and weekends (online or in-person on campus/local libraries).

Methodology
I use a diagnostic-first approach: a quick assessment to find gaps, followed by clear, step-by-step explanations and visual aids. I focus on core concept understanding, worked examples, and active recall through practice problems and mini quizzes.
Typical Lesson Plan
- 10 min: Diagnostic check and homework review
- 25–35 min: Targeted instruction and worked examples
- 10–15 min: Guided practice and/or a mini-quiz
- 5 min: Summary wrap-up, homework assignment, and progress notes
What Sets Me Apart
As a university science student who has recently completed these exact courses with top marks, I can explain complex ideas in a relatable, low-pressure way. I understand where students typically get stuck, I adapt easily to each student’s individual pace, and I provide concise written follow-up notes after every session.
Who Lessons Are For
BC students (Grades 1–12) studying Calculus, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, or Physics, including midterm and final exam preparation. Lessons are flexible and available both online or in-person (on campus or local libraries).

Reviews
Perfect! Megan did an excellent job - she was very well prepared, knew the material, and changed subjects with ease. She's highly recommended!
- It was pretty good! Drake got into the video platform on time and even early. There weren't any technological problems, which was great! Instead of Chemistry, we actually looked over Physics, but that was no problem.Megan's response :
Looking forward to next time!
I will personally text Jay more info about today's lesson in a couple mins!
