About Zalihe
My name is Zalihe and I am currently a student in my third year of a biomedical science degree at the university of surrey. I am from the UK and primarily speak English however I also speak Turkish fluently as this is my native language. Growing up I’ve always been passionate towards science, specifically biology and hope to pursue a masters in this field in my postgraduate studies. My interest in science has guided me towards teaching and I enjoy helping to build students' self-esteem and inspiring them in their own educational journey. I have achieved 3 grade A's in A-level Biology, chemistry and geography and an A* in Turkish as well as grade 7s in GCSE Biology, chemistry, physics, English literature and Language.I have been teaching for approximately 3 years in private education and have experience teaching children with ages ranging from 10-16. Recently I have been focusing on preparing students for their GCSE biology and chemistry exams and I am familiar with the main UK GCSE exam boards AQA, edexcel and OCR.

I aim to make the teaching experience friendly and enjoyable for students and ensure they completely understand and are comfortable with the topics and concepts taught before applying their knowledge to practice questions. I believe maintaining a good study schedule is essential for all students and therefore use the initial lessons to plan and adapt a teaching plan for individual students that I believe would be best suited for them based off their preferred teaching methods. I will provide practice questions and exam papers as homework at the end of lessons and ensure we mark and correct them together at the beginning of each lesson. This gives students the chance to reflect on the information they were taught during the lesson and improve their exam technique.
