About John
I am a 2:1 graduate from the one of the world’s top five universities in one of their most challenging subjects. UCL's neuroscience department is number one in Europe, and number two in the world. I choose my modules specifically to learn as much as I could about learning and practised implementing all I learnt throughout my degree, and successfully taught fellow students to do the same.
Much of a student’s performance, and more importantly happiness, is determined by their mental health. I have successfully mentored several students through severe mental health problems to find academic success, and, more importantly, to start feeling happier again. This inspired me to learn more about cognitive behavioural therapy, the most scientifically backed intervention for mental illnesses, and have since acquired several qualifications and became accredited with the Association for Psychological Therapies.
I have been tutoring professionally for the last nine months. In that time:
• 100% of clients have reviewed me positively
• I have acquired over 200 hours of tutoring experience
• None of the agencies I work for have received a single complaint
• All my students have improved their confidence and performance in their chosen subjects, and most have applied what I have taught them to other subjects and will likely continue to do so for the rest of their careers.
