I met Rahul through a Kijiji ad for Mac and Apple tutoring. I needed help mastering Mac for my work and to stay organized. Rahul really helped me out. His teaching style is very flexible. Not only he adjusted well to my pace, he was willing to make changes as needed. He is also very understanding, patient and knowledgable. I feel like I have learnt a lot from him. One of the best things I learnt was being able to manage my passwords securely. I went from writing them in a diary to using a password manager. That way I only have to remember 1 password now. I have consulted him for Mac, computers, video editing etc. (mostly tech stuff) that’s his niche. Now I’m a tech savvy too and it’s all because of Rahul. 1. When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I have been greatly interested in how the world of tech works since the age of 13. I started by researching and blogging about how to edit videos, develop websites, develop apps and software etc. Since then, I have been very interesting in tech, entrepreneurship, design, and other fields I teach.
2. What makes you passionate about your subject?
The pace at which all the fields I am interested in are progressing is what makes me extremely passionate. There is always something new daily in the realm of consumer tech, software, design, business and more. There are no bounds to creativity.
3. What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
While learning coding, design and video editing, I watched a lot of tutorials, however, I ended up learning through experimentation. I realized courses and tutoring has to be customized based on the student's needs. Not everyone learns the same way. I wanted to change that, provide tutorials about design thinking, video editing, web design and more in a more friendly and simpler manner so that everyone can learn it.
4. Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
My high school followed a very unique curriculum and integrated a very interesting teaching strategy called "TFU – Teaching For Understanding." Our teachers were friendly and catered education to every student in the way they would learn the best. When I saw how design, making websites, video editing etc is being taught, I felt there was a connection lacking. My high school teachers who taught me under the TFU curriculum are my role models, I owe them a lot for who I am today.
5. What are your keys to success?
Hard but smart work, perseverance, networking and knowing your worth!
